Tom Fazio designed this private residential course within the Querencia community, one of Los Cabos' most exclusive enclaves perched on the East Cape corridor between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Opened in the early 2000s, the layout earned a place among Mexico's most celebrated courses almost immediately, and its reputation has only grown since. Fazio routed the holes across a rugged volcanic landscape, weaving fairways through arroyos, native desert scrub, and dramatic elevation changes that frame the Sea of Cortez on the horizon — a visual experience that has little equivalent in resort golf.
The design rewards strategic thinking over raw power. Arroyos cross and border several holes, demanding precise carry distances and honest club selection, while the prevailing breezes off the Cortez add another variable that scorecards simply cannot express.
Querencia functions as an amenity for its residential community rather than a public destination, which shapes the entire experience: unhurried pace, impeccably maintained turf, and a quieter intimacy that distinguishes it from the high-volume resort tracks that define much of the Los Cabos golf market.
