Cottage Grove sits in the southern Willamette Valley, roughly halfway between Eugene and Roseburg along the I-5 corridor — a stretch of Oregon where the valley floor begins to narrow and the Coast Range and Cascades press closer together. It's a working-class town with a genuine community feel, and golf here reflects that: accessible, unhurried, the kind of round where you're likely to know someone in the parking lot or pick one up on the first tee.
A par 70 layout typically trims a couple of par 5s from the standard card, which tends to produce a course that rewards shot-making and precision over raw power. In western Oregon's climate, that means navigating soft fairways and receptive greens through much of the year, with the Cascades providing a quiet backdrop when the skies clear — which, away from the coast, they do more often than Oregon's reputation suggests.
Southern Willamette Valley golf tends to be green, tree-lined, and unpretentious. Hidden Valley appears to fit that mold: a local course serving its community, where the value is in the round itself rather than the resort trappings.
