Twin Waters Golf Club sits on the Sunshine Coast, that stretch of southeast Queensland coastline north of Brisbane where the hinterland ranges meet tidal flats, wetlands, and beach. Mudjimba is a quiet residential pocket between Coolum and Maroochydore, and the golf course here was designed by Peter Thomson and Michael Wolveridge — the same partnership behind several of Australia's most respected layouts. Opened in the early 1990s, it was built through low-lying coastal terrain threaded with lakes and waterways, and that watery character defines just about every round played here.
Water comes into play on the vast majority of holes, which means course management and club selection matter far more than raw power. The layout rewards players who think their way around rather than those who simply swing hard, and the flat, open terrain gives you full sight of the trouble ahead — which is both a comfort and a warning.
The Sunshine Coast has grown into a legitimate golf destination, with a cluster of quality courses within easy reach. Twin Waters occupies the more accessible, resort-friendly end of that spectrum, drawing a mix of locals, holiday golfers, and visiting groups who want a genuine test without the formality of a private club.
