Few courses in Atlantic Canada announce themselves quite like Crowbush Cove. Designed by Thomas McBroom and opened in 1994, it quickly earned a reputation as one of Canada's finest public courses — a links-style layout on Prince Edward Island's north shore that genuinely earns that descriptor. McBroom routed the course along the Gulf of St. Lawrence, where dunes, marram grass, and tidal inlets shape nearly every hole. Several holes play directly alongside the water, and the wind — a constant, shifting presence — effectively adds or subtracts clubs from your bag on any given day.
The setting is Prince Edward Island at its most dramatic: red-sand beaches, rolling dune complexes, and a coastline that feels more like the Scottish fringe than mainland Canada. Morell sits on the island's eastern end, well away from the Charlottetown bustle, and the drive out only heightens the sense of arrival.
Crowbush Cove is a provincial public facility, which means this caliber of course is accessible without a club membership. It regularly appears on national best-of lists and has become something of a bucket-list destination for Canadian golfers — one of those rare places where the scorecard genuinely undersells the experience.
