皇子山CC

皇子山カントリークラブ is one of the older private clubs in the Kinki region, occupying the wooded hillside terrain east of Lake Biwa in Otsu — Japan's largest lake forming a constant presence in the wider landscape. The course takes its name from Ojiyama, the hill on which it sits, and the layout reflects that topography honestly: elevation changes are genuine and persistent, and the tree-lined corridors demand shape and course management rather than raw power. It is the kind of track where local knowledge genuinely pays off, and members tend to carry a quiet pride in that fact.

Otsu itself sits at the southwestern edge of Shiga Prefecture, just over the mountains from Kyoto, which gives the club an interesting dual character — close enough to the ancient capital to draw a sophisticated membership, yet rooted in the slower, greener rhythm of lakeside Shiga.
