Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club

Few courses in Southeast Asia carry the prestige of Manila Southwoods. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1993, the club operates 2 full 18-hole layouts — the Masters Course and the Legends Course — both bearing the strategic hallmarks Nicklaus built his design philosophy around: generous landing areas that tighten as you approach the green, bold contouring, and water hazards positioned to punish the overconfident rather than the merely unlucky. The Masters Course in particular has earned recognition among the finest layouts in the Philippines, and the club has hosted Asian Tour events that brought international fields and serious scrutiny to its design.

Carmona sits in Cavite province, about an hour south of Manila when traffic cooperates — which, in Metro Manila's orbit, is never guaranteed. The property rises into forested, rolling terrain that feels genuinely removed from the urban sprawl, with mature trees framing fairways and creating a sense of enclosure unusual for this part of Luzon.
