Annapolis Royal carries more history per square mile than almost anywhere else in Canada — a fortified town founded in the early 1600s, contested repeatedly between French and British colonial forces, and home to the oldest surviving European settlement north of Florida. Fort View Golf Club takes its name from that heritage, and playing here means doing so against a backdrop steeped in centuries of North American history.
The course sits in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley, a region shaped by the tidal forces of the Bay of Fundy — one of the world's great natural phenomena — and characterized by rich agricultural lowlands, apple orchards, and the soft, rolling terrain that defines this corner of the Maritime provinces. At par 70, Fort View is a layout that rewards precision over raw distance. Shorter par-70 designs typically ask golfers to think carefully from the tee rather than simply overpower the course, making course management a genuine factor across the round.
