Watrous sits in the middle of Saskatchewan's wide prairie interior, about 100 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon, and it owes much of its identity to Little Manitou Lake — a saline body of water with a buoyancy and mineral reputation that has drawn visitors since the late 19th century.
