Tom Fazio's fingerprints are all over this private club in Longwood, and the result is one of Central Florida's most admired residential golf environments. Opened in the mid-1990s as the centerpiece of the upscale Alaqua Lakes community, the Legacy Club was designed to complement rather than fight the natural Florida landscape — mature oaks, wetlands corridors, and the open sky of Seminole County framing nearly every hole. Fazio's routing moves with a quiet confidence, rewarding players who shape their shots and think strategically off the tee.
Longwood sits in the northern suburbs of Orlando, where the golf culture runs deep but the private-club scene tends toward understated exclusivity rather than resort flash. Seminole County's terrain offers more topographic interest than much of South Florida, and the Legacy Club makes good use of the elevation changes and native vegetation available to it.
Membership here is tied to residency in the Alaqua Lakes development, giving the club an intimate, community-driven character. This is golf played among neighbors, with the course serving as both athletic challenge and daily backdrop.
