Indooroopilly Golf Course

Few clubs in Australian golf carry the institutional weight that Indooroopilly does. Founded in 1926, the club operates 2 18-hole courses — the Centenary and the Kurrajong — on a sweeping riverside site in Brisbane's leafy inner-west. The land rolls along a bend of the Brisbane River, and the topography gives both layouts genuine elevation change, which is rarer than you'd expect for a subtropical city course. Over the decades the club has grown into one of Queensland's most respected private members' clubs, hosting state-level amateur competition and serving as a proving ground for Queensland golf talent.

The Indooroopilly suburb itself sits about 7 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, a comfortable middle-class precinct of jacaranda-lined streets and old Queenslander homes. The course environment reflects that: mature eucalypts and subtropical vegetation frame most fairways, and the river creates a natural boundary that shapes the routing and occasionally the wind.
