Torslanda Golfklubb sits on Hisingen, the large island wedged between the Göta älv and Nordre älv rivers just northwest of Gothenburg — an island that is, by some measures, the 4th largest in Sweden yet feels entirely woven into the fabric of the city. The club has been part of the local golf community since the mid-20th century, representing the kind of established, member-driven Swedish club that forms the backbone of golf in the country's west coast region. Gothenburg's golfing culture is serious and well-developed, and Torslanda sits comfortably within it.
The terrain on Hisingen shifts between open stretches and wooded corridors, and the course makes use of that varied landscape. Swedish west coast weather — maritime, changeable, with real wind off the water — means conditions here can transform a routine round into something considerably more demanding. The short summer season concentrates play, giving the club a lively, communal energy during the months when the light seems to last all evening.
For visiting golfers, Torslanda offers a genuine local experience rather than a resort showcase — the kind of round where you play among members who know every bounce and break, on a course shaped by its specific patch of Swedish ground.
