Las Colinas Golf & Country Club

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club opened in 2009 and has quietly built one of the strongest reputations on the Costa Blanca. Designed by Cabell Robinson — the American architect responsible for several well-regarded layouts across Iberia — the course works through a protected natural park in the hills above Orihuela Costa, weaving between mature pine and carob trees, across dry riverbeds, and around the kind of rugged Mediterranean terrain that most resort developers would simply bulldoze flat. It earned recognition in Spanish national rankings within a few years of opening and is consistently considered among the top courses in the Valencia and Murcia regions.

Robinson's design rewards patience and local knowledge. The routing climbs and falls with the land rather than fighting it, offering elevated tee shots, natural rocky outcroppings as hazards, and long views across the Alicante interior toward the coast. The conditioning tends to run notably above what the surrounding area produces.

As a private members' club it maintains a quieter, more considered atmosphere than the busier resort courses lining the coast between Torrevieja and Campoamor — a genuine contrast to the volume-driven golf that dominates much of this stretch of Spain.
