Few courses in the Greater Toronto Area can claim Trafalgar Golf and Country Club's kind of longevity. One of Milton's oldest established clubs, it sits in Halton Region at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment — that dramatic limestone ridge that defines so much of southern Ontario's landscape — and the terrain gives the course a natural character that pure farmland layouts in the surrounding area simply can't replicate. The combination of mature hardwoods and gentle elevation changes rooted in the escarpment geography makes it feel genuinely removed from the suburban sprawl creeping up around Milton.
As a private members' club, Trafalgar carries the atmosphere of a place where golf is taken seriously and regulars know every bounce and break. The par-71 layout rewards local knowledge, and courses of this type tend to derive their difficulty from precision rather than length alone — positioning off the tee matters more than raw power.
Milton itself sits about 40 kilometres west of Toronto, close enough to draw city-based golfers but grounded in its own community identity. The Halton Hills corridor has a respectable concentration of quality private and semi-private clubs, and Trafalgar holds a comfortable place among them.
