Harabäckens golfbana sits along the Halland coast in Varberg, a seaside town that has shaped Swedish wellness culture for well over a century — home to one of Scandinavia's oldest and most famous bathhouses, the Varbergs Kallbadhus. The surrounding landscape is a characteristic blend of coastal heath, pine woodland, and granite outcroppings that gives this stretch of southwest Sweden much of its visual identity. Golf has been played in the region for decades, and Halland as a whole is one of the denser concentrations of courses in the country.
Harabäcken itself is a relatively compact, unpretentious layout that draws its membership from the Varberg community and serves as an accessible everyday club rather than a destination resort. The course works with the natural roll of the terrain, and the wooded sections in particular give it an enclosed, sheltered quality through much of the round.
For visiting golfers, Varberg is an easy stop along the E6 corridor between Gothenburg and Malmö, and the surrounding Halland coast offers easy access to a number of other clubs if you're building a multi-course trip through the region.
