Warren Golf & Country Club occupies a stretch of land in the Folkestone Road corridor of Clementi, one of Singapore's more established residential belts in the west of the island. Founded in 1922, it is among the oldest golf clubs in Singapore, carrying a legacy that predates the modern era of the city-state entirely. The club takes its name from The Warren, a colonial-era estate that once occupied the site, and that heritage gives the place a distinctly different atmosphere from Singapore's newer, purpose-built golf developments.
The layout winds through mature tropical vegetation — the kind of dense, layered canopy that only decades of growth can produce — and the heat and humidity of equatorial Singapore make even a seemingly manageable round a genuine physical test. Water hazards and tight, tree-lined fairways reward course management over raw power.
As a private members' club, Warren fosters the unhurried, community-centred golf culture that longtime members prize: a place where the game takes second billing to belonging, and where the club's deep roots in Singapore's sporting history are felt in the fabric of the place itself.
