Golfclub Schultenhof takes its name from the historic Schultenhof farmstead in Versmold, a small market town in the Teutoburg Forest region of eastern Westphalia. The course occupies a gently rolling agricultural landscape typical of this part of North Rhine-Westphalia — open meadows, mature tree lines, and the quiet, unhurried pace of rural Germany. Versmold sits between Bielefeld and Osnabrück, both cities with active golf communities, giving Schultenhof a regional membership base that values the club's local, grounded character over resort spectacle.
The course itself plays through a landscape shaped more by the land's farming heritage than by dramatic intervention, with fairways that reward positional play rather than raw power. The setting changes noticeably through the seasons — spring and autumn bring soft conditions underfoot, while summer opens up the turf and extends the ball considerably.
For visiting golfers, Schultenhof offers an authentic taste of everyday German club golf: well-maintained, community-minded, and rooted in a part of Westphalia that rewards the traveler willing to explore beyond the obvious destinations.
