Linyi University's golf practice facility sits on the campus of one of China's largest universities by enrollment — a sprawling institution in southern Shandong that serves well over a million registered students across its various programs. Campus golf facilities of this kind emerged across Chinese universities during the sport's growth years in the 2000s and early 2010s, as universities sought to introduce the game to students and faculty, often pairing driving ranges and short-game areas with introductory instruction programs.
Linyi itself is a substantial city in the Yimeng Mountain region, a landscape of low rolling hills and broad river plains that gives the surrounding countryside a softer, more agricultural character than the dramatic coastline of Qingdao to the northeast. The climate brings four distinct seasons, with warm, humid summers and cold, dry winters that compress the comfortable playing window into spring and autumn.
As a university practice facility, the emphasis here is learning and repetition rather than course-style challenge — an accessible entry point for beginners picking up the game, or a convenient place for students and locals to work on ball-striking without committing to a full round.
