Dayton Valley Golf Club sits in the high desert valley east of Reno, Nevada — and while the address says Dayton, this is firmly Northern Nevada golf, shaped by the wide-open basin landscape where the Carson River winds through sage-covered terrain beneath the Pine Nut Mountains. Designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 1992, the course is one of the more ambitious desert layouts in the region, routing long and dramatic through the valley floor with water features that feel almost surprising given the arid surroundings. It has earned a reputation as one of Nevada's better public-access tests, consistently appearing on state rankings.
