Waterview Golf Club sits along the eastern shores of Lake Ray Hubbard, one of the largest urban lakes in the United States, and the water is more than just scenery — it shapes the wind, the mood, and the challenge on nearly every hole. Rowlett is a suburb tucked into the northeastern corner of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, and this course serves as one of the more scenic public-access options within reasonable range of the city, where flat prairie terrain doesn't always reward golfers with memorable backdrops.
The layout plays to a par 72, and the lakeside exposure means afternoon winds off the water can turn a straightforward round into something considerably more demanding. Dallas-area golfers know well that calm mornings and breezy afternoons are two entirely different tests, and Ray Hubbard's open fetch gives those winds plenty of room to build.
As a public facility serving a fast-growing suburban corridor, Waterview functions as a genuine community course — accessible, well-used, and offering that rarer thing in the DFW suburbs: a round where the water is always somewhere in view.
