North Hill Chiang Mai Golf

Chiang Mai's cooler upland climate and mountain-ringed geography have always made it one of Southeast Asia's more compelling golf destinations, and North Hill sits comfortably within that tradition. The course occupies the hilly terrain south of the city near Hang Dong, where the land rises toward Doi Inthanon — Thailand's highest peak — lending the layout genuine elevation change and views that most Thai courses, built on flat coastal or central plains, simply cannot offer. Fairways thread through mature tropical vegetation, and the surrounding mountains are rarely out of sight.

Hang Dong itself is a quieter, more residential corner of greater Chiang Mai, well removed from the old city's tourist bustle, which gives North Hill a laid-back, unhurried atmosphere that suits recreational golf well. The cooler temperatures here — relative to Bangkok or the Gulf coast — make year-round play genuinely comfortable, particularly from November through February when northern Thailand is at its most pleasant.

The course caters to a broad mix of expatriates, Thai members, and visiting golfers drawn to Chiang Mai's reputation as a livable, culturally rich northern capital. Conditions and presentation sit in the solid mid-range tier that characterizes much of Chiang Mai's accessible golf scene.
