Few clubs in western Canada carry the institutional weight of Point Grey Golf & Country Club. Founded in 1922, it occupies a dramatic stretch of land on Vancouver's west side, with the course winding through mature Douglas firs and cedars that give it the feel of a forest clearing carved out by hand — which, in large part, it was. The design has evolved over the decades, but its bones remain those of a classic parkland course that rewards precision over power, with tight tree-lined corridors demanding honest ball-striking from the first tee.
The club sits in one of Vancouver's most affluent residential neighbourhoods, minutes from UBC and the cliffs above the Fraser River estuary. The Pacific climate keeps the course green well into November, and the surrounding canopy holds moisture in a way that makes every round feel distinctly West Coast — soft underfoot, fragrant, and unhurried.
Point Grey has long been a fixture in Canadian golf's private-club hierarchy, producing competitive junior and amateur programs and maintaining the kind of course conditions that justify its quiet but confident reputation among those fortunate enough to play it.
