Daniel Island sits on a tidal peninsula between the Wando and Cooper rivers, just northeast of Charleston — one of the more thoughtfully planned communities to emerge from the Lowcountry's development boom of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The island was master-planned from scratch, and golf was woven into its fabric from the beginning. Beresford Creek takes its name from the tidal creek system that threads through this part of the island, and the course plays through the salt marshes, maritime forest, and wetlands that define this particular stretch of coastal South Carolina.
Golf in the Lowcountry carries its own set of conditions that no scorecard can fully prepare you for: salt air that plays tricks with ball flight, afternoon sea breezes off the marshes, and a landscape that demands you account for water not just as a hazard but as a constant presence shaping nearly every hole.
Daniel Island's private residential character gives Beresford Creek the feel of a club built primarily for its community — a course where members return repeatedly through the seasons and learn its rhythms, rather than a destination track built around first impressions.
