Few resort courses in North America sit quite where Real del Mar does — just south of the U.S.-Mexico border on the coastal hills above the Pacific, where the ocean horizon stretches unbroken toward the west and the climate stays mild nearly year-round. Rosarito and its surroundings have long drawn visitors from Southern California, and this resort course captures that cross-border character: accessible enough for a weekend escape from San Diego yet genuinely transported into Baja's looser, sunlit atmosphere.
The terrain here does the heavy lifting. Baja's coastal chaparral and rolling topography give the layout elevation changes and framed views that a flat resort property simply cannot manufacture. Playing Real del Mar means navigating holes that open up to Pacific vistas one moment and tuck into the hillside the next, rewarding players who manage the wind and the terrain rather than just their swing.
As a resort layout built for enjoyment over intimidation, it welcomes a wide range of handicaps while still offering enough variety to hold the interest of experienced players making the Baja run.
