The Sea Ranch Golf Links occupies one of the more dramatic stretches of the Sonoma Coast, where the Pacific Ocean meets the rugged bluffs and meadows of the Sea Ranch community. This part of Northern California's coastline is defined by raw, windswept terrain — grasses that lean permanently eastward, cypress trees shaped by prevailing ocean winds, and fog that rolls in without warning. Playing here is as much a conversation with the elements as it is a round of golf.
The course itself is built on the principles of the Sea Ranch's broader design philosophy: low-impact development that works with the natural landscape rather than against it. Fairways move through open meadows and along coastal bluffs, rewarding players who respect the wind and punishing those who don't. It's the kind of layout where club selection matters more than raw distance.
Sea Ranch as a planned community has attracted architecture enthusiasts and nature lovers since the 1960s, and the golf course reflects that same respect for place. It is a genuinely uncommon experience — coastal California golf without pretension.
