Durand sits in the Chippewa River valley of west-central Wisconsin, a part of the state where the terrain rolls and folds as the land descends toward the Mississippi. It's classic Midwestern pastoral country — wooded ridges, open meadows, and the kind of unhurried small-town atmosphere that makes a round of golf feel genuinely recreational rather than performative. Pepin County has no pretense about it, and that spirit tends to carry over to its golf.
Rolling Greens appears to be a community-level public course doing exactly what a small-town 18-hole layout should: giving local golfers a full-length track without having to drive an hour to find one. A par 72 in this landscape almost certainly means elevation changes and some interesting routing through naturally contoured ground — the name itself suggests the course makes honest use of what the terrain offers.
For visitors passing through the Chippewa Valley or heading toward the Great River Road along the Mississippi, a round here would be a straightforward, no-fuss stop — the kind of course where the green fee is fair and the people in the clubhouse actually know your name by the back 9.
