Copper Creek Golf Club sits in Kleinburg, a village in Vaughan that has managed to hold onto its small-town character despite sitting at the northern edge of the Greater Toronto Area. The course occupies the kind of rolling, wooded terrain the Oak Ridges Moraine produces naturally — elevation changes, mature tree lines, and the creeks and ravines that give this property its name. It's a markedly different landscape from the flat suburban sprawl just minutes to the south.
Opened in 2002 and designed by Doug Carrick, one of Canada's most accomplished course architects, Copper Creek quickly established itself as one of the premier public-access layouts in Ontario. Carrick routed the course through the natural contours of the land, and the result is a round that demands shotmaking in multiple directions — uphill, downhill, across water, and through tightly framed corridors of hardwood and pine.
For GTA golfers looking beyond the region's more familiar private clubs, Copper Creek offers a genuine test with a polished, resort-quality presentation. It consistently ranks among the top public courses in Canada.
