Palm Desert sits at the heart of the Coachella Valley's golf corridor, one of the most concentrated stretches of resort and private golf in the American West. The valley's unique desert basin geography — ringed by the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains — creates a playing environment that is visually dramatic and climatically extreme, with mild winters that draw travelers from across the continent and summer heat that clears the fairways entirely.
Desert Springs is a resort-style layout operating in one of the most competitive golf markets imaginable. Palm Desert and its neighbors — Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta — host dozens of courses ranging from municipal tracks to elite private clubs, meaning resort courses here are typically built to impress: wide landing areas, bold bunkering, water features, and groomed conditions meant to deliver a memorable round to visitors who may only play once.
At par 72 over 18 holes, the course fits the valley's standard resort template. The real draw, as with most Coachella Valley golf, is the setting itself — big desert sky, mountain backdrops, and that particular quality of winter light that makes even an ordinary round feel like something worth remembering.
