La Planicie is one of Lima's most prestigious private clubs, set in the affluent residential district of the same name in La Molina — a valley on the eastern edge of the capital where the coastal fog that blankets much of Lima tends to thin out, offering more reliable sun than the grey garúa that dominates the city's winter months. The club serves a tight-knit membership drawn from Lima's business and social elite, and the golf course sits at the heart of a broader country club complex that includes tennis, swimming, and social facilities typical of Peru's top-tier private institutions.
Golf in Lima occupies a genuinely rarefied space — the city has relatively few courses for its size, and access to quality private layouts is limited almost exclusively to members and their guests. La Planicie sits near the top of that hierarchy, alongside Los Inkas and La Hacienda as one of the capital's most respected members' clubs.
The surrounding landscape is the dry loma terrain of Peru's coastal foothills — largely arid, with irrigation doing the work of keeping turf in shape. Expect a well-maintained, mature course that rewards local knowledge and rewards membership deeply.
