Few towns in Ontario claim as intimate a relationship with Canadian golf history as Kenora. The Kenora Golf and Country Club is one of the country's older private clubs, rooted in a northwestern Ontario community that punches well above its size in sporting tradition — this is, after all, the town that produced hockey legend Tom Longboat's era contemporaries and has long nurtured a fierce local pride in its athletic institutions. Sitting in the lake country where Ontario meets Manitoba, the club occupies a landscape defined by the Canadian Shield: exposed granite, towering pines, and the glittering reach of Lake of the Woods pressing in at every turn.
