Few American cities carry golf history as richly layered as New Orleans, and the New Orleans Country Club stands at the center of it. One of the oldest and most prestigious private clubs in Louisiana, it has long served as the social and competitive anchor of the city's golf community, counting among its membership generations of the city's most dedicated players. The club's pedigree places it firmly in the upper tier of Gulf South private golf.
The course itself reflects the flat, low-lying terrain characteristic of the New Orleans basin — a landscape where architects must work creatively with water, bunkering, and strategic routing rather than dramatic elevation. Bermuda turf thrives in the subtropical heat, and the dense canopy of live oaks that defines so much of Uptown New Orleans gives the property a grandeur that no scorecard statistic can convey.
