Few courses in Scandinavia carry the weight of history that Falsterbo does. Founded in 1909, it ranks among the oldest golf clubs in Sweden and has long been considered one of the finest — and most distinctive — layouts in all of northern Europe. The course occupies a narrow peninsula at the southwestern tip of Sweden, where the Baltic Sea and the Øresund meet, and that geography defines everything. Wind is not a factor here; it is the factor. On most days the course plays as a genuine links, with firm turf, running fairways, and a sky that stretches without interruption to the horizon.

The design follows the natural contours of the headland, routing holes through heathland, dunes, and low coastal scrub. Sheep graze the surrounding nature reserve, and the old Falsterbo lighthouse stands as a constant landmark. The combination of wildlife, open sky, and sea views gives the place an atmosphere that is genuinely elemental rather than merely scenic.

Falsterbo has hosted numerous Swedish national championships and is regularly cited among the top courses in Sweden. Visiting golfers often describe it as one of those rare places where the golf and the landscape feel inseparable — a course that could exist nowhere else.
