Few private clubs in America have arrived with the kind of instant gravity that The Alotian Club carried from its opening in 2004. Designed by Tom Fazio and developed by Arkansas billionaire Warren Stephens, Alotian was built with a singular ambition: to create a world-class private club in the heart of the South. It succeeded. The course climbed golf's major rankings almost immediately and has consistently appeared among the top 100 courses in the United States, a remarkable achievement for a club barely two decades old.
The layout moves through the wooded hills west of Little Rock with the kind of effortless naturalism Fazio is known for — generous landing areas giving way to demanding, contoured greens, the whole thing feeling both accessible off the tee and quietly unforgiving around the flags. The terrain gives the course genuine elevation change, and the tree-lined corridors create an intimate, focused atmosphere rarely found outside the game's most storied venues.
Roland sits just outside Little Rock, and Alotian draws its membership from Arkansas's business and civic elite. For those who get through the door, it represents the state's clearest statement that serious, destination-caliber golf doesn't require a coastline.
