Few mountain courses in Canada carry as much architectural pedigree as Greywolf. Designed by Doug Carrick and opened in 1999, it sits within the Panorama Mountain Resort in British Columbia's Purcell Mountains, and it has repeatedly earned recognition as one of the finest resort courses in the country — Golf Digest and Score Golf have both ranked it among Canada's best. The course plays across dramatically varied elevation, with some holes dropping or climbing hundreds of feet, and the par-3 6th, known as "Cliffhanger," is one of the most photographed holes in Canadian golf: a tee shot that plays over a canyon void to a green perched on the far side, with the Purcell wilderness spread out behind it.
Panorama itself sits in the Columbia Valley near Invermere, a region defined by big Rocky Mountain and Purcell scenery, glacier-fed rivers, and a short but intense summer season. The valley draws outdoor travelers year-round, and Greywolf is squarely at the center of its warm-weather appeal.
Playing here means negotiating real mountain terrain — blind shots, severe slopes, and thin air that pushes the ball farther than flatlanders expect. It rewards patience and course management far more than raw power, and the scenery makes even a difficult round feel worthwhile.
