Mar Menor Golf Resort

Mar Menor Golf Resort sits on the flat coastal plain of Murcia, in the southeast corner of Spain where the land tapers toward the salt lagoon that gives the course its name. The Mar Menor — Europe's largest saltwater lagoon — defines this stretch of the Costa Cálida, a region of low humidity, more than 300 days of sunshine a year, and an almost complete absence of wind-driven rain. It is one of the more reliably playable corners of continental Europe, and the course is built to take full advantage of that.

The layout was designed by Ramón Espinosa, a Spanish architect responsible for several courses across the Iberian peninsula, and opened in the 1990s as part of a broader residential and leisure development. Wide fairways and generous landing zones make it accessible to resort visitors of all abilities, though water features and strategically placed bunkering provide enough resistance to keep better players honest.
