Whistler Golf Course

Few mountain resort towns in North America have built a golf identity as deliberately as Whistler. The Whistler Golf Course — designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 1983 — was among the first courses to establish the village as a genuine four-season destination, not merely a ski resort with a summer afterthought. Palmer's design works with the mountain valley terrain rather than against it, routing holes through wetlands, along the Fitzsimmons Creek corridor, and across meadow flats with the Coast Mountains rising on every horizon. It remains one of the more approachable layouts in the Whistler corridor, making it a natural starting point for resort visitors before they tackle the more demanding tracks nearby.

The setting does much of the work. Bald eagles are a regular presence overhead, and the course's wetland areas support serious wildlife activity that can slow a round in the best possible way.

As a resort-managed public course at the heart of Whistler Village, it draws a wide mix of players — destination travelers, visiting skiers rediscovering the region in summer, and locals who know its subtleties well.
