Evansville sits in the far southwestern corner of Indiana, where the state brushes against Kentucky and the Ohio River bends south — a region with a longer golf season than most of Indiana and a club culture that takes its private courses seriously. Oak Meadow Golf Club is part of that tradition, a members-only layout where the game is played with some deliberateness and the expectation of a proper round.
Without access to the club's internal history, it would be dishonest to invent an architect or founding story here — but a par-72 private course in this part of the Midwest typically reflects the rolling, wooded terrain of the lower Wabash Valley, where elevation changes are modest but tree lines and turf conditions do the work of creating variety and challenge.
What private membership generally delivers — and what Oak Meadow's members presumably enjoy — is unhurried access, a well-maintained track, and the kind of familiarity with a course that only comes from playing it across seasons. For visitors, it is accessible by invitation only.
