Ormond Beach sits just north of Daytona Beach on Florida's upper Atlantic coast, a town with a quieter, more residential character than its famous neighbor. The area is flat, open, and shaped by the Halifax River corridor and the barrier island geography that defines this stretch of the Sunshine State. Golf here is a year-round pursuit, with the warm climate drawing both full-time residents and seasonal snowbirds looking to play consistently through the winter months.
Oceanside Country Club carries the name of a private members' club and almost certainly reflects that character — a course built around community and familiarity as much as pure challenge. Private clubs in this part of Florida tend to cultivate a loyal, tightly-knit membership, where the same groups fill the tee sheet Saturday after Saturday and the clubhouse matters nearly as much as what's out on the course.
The coastal Volusia County setting suggests the usual Florida hallmarks: water in play, firm Bermuda fairways and greens, and a routing that rewards placement and patience over brute length. It won't demand elevation changes that don't exist, but the ocean breezes off the Atlantic can complicate club selection in ways the card will never warn you about.
