Golf d'Arras

Few regions in northern France carry as much historical weight as Pas-de-Calais, and Golf d'Arras sits in that landscape with a quiet awareness of its surroundings. The course is set in Anzin-Saint-Aubin, a small commune just northwest of Arras, a city that spent much of the 20th century rebuilding itself after near-total destruction in World War I. The rolling agricultural plain here — the Artois plateau — gives the layout room to breathe, with open fairways shaped by the gentle folds of the land rather than dramatic elevation change.

Golf d'Arras is a well-regarded 18-hole parkland course that serves as the main golfing address for the greater Arras area. The design works with mature tree lines and water features to create a measured test that rewards course management over power. It has established itself as a genuine regional hub, hosting competitive amateur events and attracting players from Lille, the Channel ports, and across the Nord-Pas-de-Calais golfing community.

The climate here is temperate and maritime-influenced — expect cool mornings and changeable skies, the kind of conditions that make a well-struck iron feel earned. Arras itself, with its magnificent Flemish Baroque Grand'Place, is worth the visit entirely on its own terms.
