Dungarvan sits where the Colligan River meets the sea, with the Comeragh Mountains rising to the north and Dungarvan Bay spreading wide to the south — and Gold Coast Golf Club makes the most of that setting. The course occupies a stretch of coastline on the western edge of Waterford, where the Atlantic influence is constant and the views across the bay shift with every change in light and weather. Playing here, the landscape does much of the talking.
Waterford's golf scene is quietly strong, and a coastal parkland layout like this one rewards course management as much as raw power. Links-style winds rolling in off the bay can turn a straightforward par 4 into something considerably more demanding, and local knowledge earns its keep over multiple rounds.
County Waterford draws visitors for its ancient history, its cliffs and coastal trails, and a pace of life that suits a long day of golf followed by something good to eat. Gold Coast fits that rhythm — a proper day out on the southeast Irish coast.
