Jangheung-gun sits in the southern reaches of Jeollanam-do, a province that defines rural South Korea at its most scenic — rice paddies threading between forested ridgelines, the air carrying salt from the nearby득량만 (Deungnyangman) Bay. It is not a region built around golf tourism the way Jeju Island is, which makes courses here feel like discoveries rather than destinations, drawing largely regional players from Gwangju and the broader Honam area rather than weekend travelers chasing rankings.
JNJ골프리조트 operates as a resort-style facility in this verdant, hilly landscape, and like most courses in Jeollanam-do's interior, the terrain does much of the design work — elevation changes, tree-lined corridors, and views across the surrounding mountains give rounds here a natural character that manufactured resort courses often lack. The climate is temperate but humid in summer, with the southern peninsula's longer warm season extending the playing window well into autumn.
For golfers based in or passing through the southwest, it represents a comfortable full-service experience well away from the congestion and price premiums of the Seoul metropolitan golf corridor.
