弟子屈カントリークラブ sits in one of Hokkaido's most dramatic inland landscapes — Teshikaga Town, anchored by the volcanic caldera lakes of Mashu and Kussharo. This is a region where the boreal wilderness feels genuinely untamed: birch and spruce forests, wide river valleys carved by the Kushiro River's headwaters, and skies that shift between thick mist and startling clarity. Golf here is played in honest Hokkaido conditions, with a short season, cool summers, and the ever-present possibility of morning fog rolling in off Lake Mashu.
The course itself reflects the honest, unpretentious character of rural Hokkaido golf — a layout designed to work with its natural terrain rather than impose on it. Tree-lined fairways and the area's gently undulating topography create a round that rewards course management and straight driving over raw distance.
Teshikaga is a long way from Sapporo's well-traveled resort corridors, and that distance is exactly the point. Golfers who find their way here tend to be drawn by the region's extraordinary natural beauty — the onsen towns, the crane sanctuaries, and the sense that this corner of Japan operates on its own unhurried terms.
