San Jacinto sits at the western foot of the San Jacinto Mountains in Riverside County, where the Inland Empire gives way to higher desert terrain. The area enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine annually, and the elevation keeps summer temperatures a degree or two more bearable than the valley floor — conditions that make year-round golf genuinely practical rather than just technically possible.
The name Golden Era is a nod to the broader San Jacinto Valley's history as a retreat from the Los Angeles basin, a region that drew visitors and settlers throughout the early and mid-20th century looking for dry air, open space, and a slower pace. Whether the course leans toward that nostalgic character in its design or simply borrows the spirit of the name, it plants itself in a part of Southern California that doesn't get the attention of Palm Springs to the southeast or the Temecula wine-country courses to the southwest — which for many players is exactly the appeal.
As a regulation par 72 layout, Golden Era offers a full, unhurried round against a backdrop of mountain views that reward looking up from the scorecard now and then.
