Chile's central valley doesn't announce itself with drama, but the landscape earns your attention slowly — broad agricultural plains giving way to the foothills of the Andes, with the cordillera filling the eastern horizon on a clear day. Mostazal sits roughly an hour south of Santiago along the Panamericana, in a region better known for fruit growing and vineyards than for fairways, which gives a round here a genuinely unhurried, away-from-the-capital feel.
Angostura Golf Country Club occupies this agricultural corridor as a private country club experience, the kind of membership-oriented setup where the golf is inseparable from a broader social culture — the long Sunday lunch, the families around the pool, the unhurried pace that Santiago's city courses rarely allow.
