Trophy Club Country Club sits in one of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex's more deliberately named communities — Trophy Club itself was developed in the 1970s around this very course, making golf the literal foundation of the town rather than an afterthought. The club carries that original purpose seriously, functioning as the social and recreational anchor for a close-knit residential community northwest of Fort Worth, near the shores of Lake Grapevine.
North Texas golf plays out across rolling Cross Timbers terrain — a landscape of post oak, blackjack oak, and limestone ridges that separates the Blackland Prairie from the Western Plains. It's more topographically interesting than many assume, and courses in this corridor tend to offer genuine elevation change alongside the wind that is simply a permanent feature of any round in this part of Texas.
As a private members' club, Trophy Club Country Club is built for the long relationship between a golfer and a course — the kind of place where you learn which holes the prevailing south wind punishes most, and carry that knowledge for years.
