Cotswold Hills Golf Club sits on the northern edge of Cheltenham, one of England's most handsome Regency towns, where the limestone uplands of the Cotswolds begin their gentle roll toward the Severn Vale. The club dates to 1902 and occupies a parkland setting that reflects the unhurried, traditional character of the surrounding countryside — broad fairways framed by mature trees, with the kind of turf that rewards proper ball-striking over raw power.
The course plays to a full par 72 across ground that rises and falls enough to keep every round interesting without resorting to artificiality. Approach play demands thought, and the members here have the measured confidence of golfers who know their course intimately — always a good sign at a club of this age.
Cheltenham itself provides an exceptional backdrop: home to the Gold Cup festival, a thriving arts scene, and some of the finest Georgian architecture outside London. A round at Cotswold Hills slots naturally into a visit to one of England's most civilised corners.
