Aquiraz sits on the northeastern coast of Brazil, roughly 30 kilometers east of Fortaleza in the state of Ceará — a stretch of coastline defined by sweeping sand dunes, coconut palms, and near-constant trade winds blowing in off the Atlantic. This part of Brazil has developed quietly but seriously as a resort destination over the past 2 decades, and golf has followed that momentum. The climate here is warm and dry for much of the year, with the winds doing as much work shaping a round as any architect's routing decisions.
Aquiraz Riviera is part of a broader resort and residential development that brought international-caliber amenities to a coastline better known for kite surfing and beach culture. The course occupies terrain shaped by the region's characteristic dune landscape, giving it a natural drama that distinguishes it from the manicured resort layouts more common across South America.
For visiting golfers, playing here is as much about the setting as the scorecard — the sensation of being on the far northeastern edge of a continent, with the Atlantic light and the coastal breeze making every round feel genuinely different from anything found in the interior of Brazil.
