Graaf Reinet

Graaff-Reinet is one of South Africa's oldest and most historically layered towns, founded in 1786 and ringed almost entirely by the Sundays River as it cuts through the Karoo — a landscape of flat-topped kopjes, scrub acacia, and an enormous, open sky that gives the region its particular quality of light and silence.
