The Gütermann club takes its name from the thread and textile manufacturer whose family and industrial legacy shaped this corner of Baden-Württemberg for well over a century, and the course reflects that heritage: a private members' club with deep roots in the local community rather than a resort built for passing trade.

The layout occupies terrain that is characteristically Black Forest in feel — wooded, undulating, and demanding spatial awareness off the tee.
