DC Ranch Country Club sits within one of North North Scottsdale's most intentionally planned communities, where the McDowell Mountains rise sharply to the east and the Sonoran Desert spreads in every direction. The club opened in the late 1990s alongside the broader DC Ranch residential development, and Tom Weiskopf — one of the defining architects of the Scottsdale golf boom — designed the course to work with the desert terrain rather than against it. That means carry shots over native washes, saguaro-framed sightlines, and elevation changes that reward local knowledge.
The layout plays to a par 71, which is relatively uncommon and usually signals a design decision — here it reflects Weiskopf's preference for shaping holes around the land rather than forcing symmetry. The desert-target style demands accuracy off the tee; wayward shots don't find rough so much as rock, cactus, and sandy waste.
DC Ranch's private membership keeps the course unhurried and well-conditioned, consistent with the broader standard North Scottsdale has set for upscale desert golf. For residents of the surrounding community, it functions as a genuine club in the traditional sense — a daily anchor, not just an amenity.
