Jarama RACE Club

Few golf courses in Spain share their name with a Formula 1 circuit, but Jarama RACE Club does exactly that — the layout occupies land adjacent to the legendary Circuit del Jarama, the track that hosted the Spanish Grand Prix through much of the 1970s and '80s. That motorsport heritage gives the club an unusual identity, and the roar of engines during track events is occasionally part of the soundtrack when you're lining up a putt.

San Sebastián de los Reyes sits just north of Madrid, in the rolling meseta landscape typical of Castile — dry summers, cold winters, and a terrain that opens up into wide skies. The course itself is managed under the banner of RACE, Spain's Royal Automobile Club, which underlines just how intertwined the golfing and motoring cultures are here. It draws largely a Madrid metropolitan membership, offering an escape from the capital that takes under half an hour.
